Team of the Week – 23/03/2015

Mikes team of the week…

This is my CPOS team of the week, Yeah all the headline makers are in there so I’m going to write about some of the others.

Adam: He has been in and out of the Stoke side for a while and does have it in him to get a silly card but he was brilliant, moved the ball well and ran the middle of the park with his wand of a left foot.

Bertrand: He has settled at Southampton and it’s paying off. No loans, no bench, just football week in week out and he is starting to show what a good player he is.

Ospina: Had a good World Cup and arrived in England under the radar and just got on with things. He is now having a good run of games at the right time of the season. Arsenal needed a decent Keeper in pervious seasons and I think now they have got one.

Mata: If you listen to the podcast you will know my feelings towards this great player, if you have not I suggest you go back and listen.

Cleanpairofshorts Podcast – Episode 67 – Koemans Sword

This we the gang are feeling petulant, and it shows. The Premier League is dissected in full with (surprisingly) Villa and ManU heavily discussed. Also, have Chelsea won the League, who’s going to bag the champions league spots, and Poyet has left the building. There’s also a bonus mention of Peter Ndlovu. Which is nice. Do a listen here:

Team of the Week – 17/03/15

Here’s Russ’ team of the week. Read it. GO ON! READ IT!

Forster – Withstood a Chelsea Barrage with some fine saves.
Monreal – Defensively solid and a threat going forward.
Shackell – Put the shackles on Dzecko (yes, I went there). Defended burnleys goal defiantly.
Dawson – Constantly involved for West Brom over the past few weeks.

Bolasie – Involved in all the goals and used his pace well. A constant threat.             Ramsey- Injected tempo and drive into Arsenals midfield. Kept Possesion well and a goal.                                                         Hazzard – Quiet first half but constant threat in the second.                                               Carrick – Kept Utd moving forward with incisive passing.

Giroud – Involved in all three goals, great all round preformance.
Benteke – A glimpse of the Benteke of old. Using strength and skill.
Fellani – How we laughed when LVG a made Fellani a number 10. No one is laughing now.

Cleanpairofshorts Podcast – Episode 66 – The Injured Beast

This week with only a smidgen of Premier League the gang also discuss the FA cup, and have lots of disagreements. Specifically about diving, pitch invasions, & Angel DiMaria. All the quarter finals are discussed as well as Spurs v QPR, and that’s not to mention the usual’s like stat attack and predictions. More football than you can shake a cat at.

Cleanpairofshorts Podcast – Episode 65 – A Brilliant Debacle

Team of the Week – 02/03/2015

Here’s Mike’s team of the week!

Result of the weekend has to go to Crystal Place so that’s why Dann, Jedinak and Puncheon are in my team, all three of them played a big part in the victory and you can see the team being formed around them.

As an Aston Villa fan not only am I sad at the state of the club but I also hate it when one of our former players has a fantastic game and Mr Young did! United were poor but Young was the bright spark on the day, so we’ll done him through greeted teeth.

As you can see we have a sub this week, one Jonas Gutierrez and it’s good to see him back in the fold and heathy, also brings home the fact that Football is just a game (note Newcastle beat Villa sad face).
